Seed phrase and drainer safety
- Your seed phrase (secret recovery phrase) is the wallet. Anyone who has it can empty every account in it. Write it on paper or metal, offline. Never type it into a website, a form, a chat or a cloud note.
- No real support agent, wallet team or airdrop will ever ask for it. A DM offering help is a scam.
- Drainers are sites that ask you to sign a transaction or a token approval that hands over your funds. Read what you sign; if a wallet shows a warning, stop. See fake sites and wallet drainers.
- Install wallets only from the official site or the official app-store listing linked from it. Search ads impersonate wallet brands.
- Keep a separate hot wallet with small amounts for memecoins and new apps, and keep savings in a different wallet or on a hardware wallet.
