Security notes
- Each account holds EVM, Solana and Bitcoin addresses from the same recovery phrase, so one leaked phrase exposes all of them.
- Private-key import is not supported for Bitcoin or Solana accounts.
- Token approvals on EVM chains persist until revoked; review them.
How to set it up
- Install from metamask.io.
- Create a wallet and a password.
- Back up the Secret Recovery Phrase offline.
- Add networks you need from the network menu, never from a link someone sends you.
Seed phrase and drainer safety
- Your seed phrase (secret recovery phrase) is the wallet. Anyone who has it can empty every account in it. Write it on paper or metal, offline. Never type it into a website, a form, a chat or a cloud note.
- No real support agent, wallet team or airdrop will ever ask for it. A DM offering help is a scam.
- Drainers are sites that ask you to sign a transaction or a token approval that hands over your funds. Read what you sign; if a wallet shows a warning, stop. See fake sites and wallet drainers.
- Install wallets only from the official site or the official app-store listing linked from it. Search ads impersonate wallet brands.
- Keep a separate hot wallet with small amounts for memecoins and new apps, and keep savings in a different wallet or on a hardware wallet.
- Review and revoke old token approvals on EVM chains from time to time.
